Heavy Merit is a combat-sports show and website — a Vivid Spark Media production. We keep data collection minimal. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your email address — only if you give it to us, by subscribing through a form on this site or by adding it (optionally) when you submit a score in the game. We use it to send updates about the show. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe.
- A game leaderboard name — if you submit a score in The Gauntlet, the name you type is stored and shown publicly on the global leaderboard. Please don't enter anything you wouldn't want public. An email there is optional and is only used for the newsletter, as above.
- Basic technical data — like any website, our host records standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running. We may also use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count visits in aggregate. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Embedded video and links
The homepage embeds our teaser from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. If you press play, YouTube/Google may set cookies under their own policy. Links to YouTube and Facebook take you to those platforms, which handle your data under their own terms.
Who helps us run the site
We rely on a few trusted services: Kit (email and newsletter), Supabase (the game leaderboard), and Cloudflare (hosting and security). Each processes data under its own privacy terms.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails anytime using the link in any email we send.
- Ask us to remove your newsletter subscription or a leaderboard entry — see Contact below.
Children
Heavy Merit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
